That’s pretty impressive…

Anyone attempting to learn a language can appreciate this video. For me, it’s impressive enough to be fluent in 2 or 3 languages….but 8 languages? That’s nuts! It isn’t easy to learn a language, it takes time and dedication. Check out this guy as he showcases the languages he has learned…it’s pretty impressive if you ask me!

    My kids go to the European School in Luxembourg so a second language is taught from Year 1. Then there’s the playground language (French) plus the maternal language. There’s plenty of opportunity to use them too.

    Hey, we’ve talked about this guy before…but in reference to the strange marks, I just wanted to let you know I see those as well! It’s been like that for a while…it’s really weird, I don’t know why it shows up like that.

    In Luxembourg, a secretary has to speak French, German, Luxembourgish, and English. My kids have all grown up with English, Italian and French. My daughter also speaks Spanish, German and Luxembourgish, and is looking to learn Greek !

    I wish my parents had been more active in bringing me up with the Italian language. Granted the exposure I had as a child to the language has helped me out a great deal. When I have kids, I definitely want them to be brought up with more than one language…it’s very important. You daughter must really love languages….does she go to school to learn them?

    I know!! I’ll be happy when I can at least speak Italian fluently.

    I know a girl who speaks 5 languages: She is from Belguim so their native language (is it Flemish…not sure) English, Italian, French, German….she works for a tourist office here in Rome but don’t think she gets paid more for speaking these languages. Here in Italy to work at a simple bar it is pretty much madatory to speak fluent Italian (naturally) and English.

    For me learning one new language is hard enough!

    (P.S I still view these strange marks on your site, on my lap top the first sentence is this:

    I know what you mean. I know he didn’t learn the languages overnight but that’s still a lot of work and you have to keep up with learning/practicing/applying so you don’t lose what you’ve already learned.

    I have no idea why you are getting those strange marks. I don’t even have Internet Explorer 4 so I have no clue where that’s even coming from!?!?! Did it just start happening? Or has it been like that for a while?

    P.S. I have a good friend who speaks English, Italian, Greek, Czech, French and Spanish. 🙂 She’s obviously an interpreter with talent like that! 😉

    Oh my goodness! Wow!!!! What impresses me is that it’s not all Latin languages. I mean, Swedish? Dutch? He really has a talent.

    His Spanish was weird to me because of his Barcelona accent. I understood everything but I’m so used to the Buenos Aires accent.

    The fact that he seems to capture the accents along with the language is one of the things that fascinates me about this video. He has learned such a wide range of languages and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s learning more!
