Versatile Blogger Award

Earlier this month,  Kristie Prada of Mamma Prada nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award.

versatile blogger award

It’s always so lovely to receive a virtual pat on the back from other bloggers, especially ones you follow and admire, so thank you Kristie!

Apart from her blog, Kristie is one of the hosts, along with Kelly (Italian at Heart) and Jasmine (Questa Dolce Vita), of the Dolce Vita Bloggers Link Up. Their idea has not only given me a creative boost, but also allowed me to connect with some really awesome people across Italy – many of whom I hope to meet in person one day!

I highly recommend you check out Kristie’s blog!

Here are the rules:

  • Share 7 interesting facts about yourself to give your readers so they can get to know you a bit better!
  • Nominate 15 other bloggers whose work you admire.

7 (Hopefully) Interesting Facts About Me:

1:  I’ve always been into Yoga but started taking it more seriously a little over a  year ago thanks to Yoga with Adriene. She’s amazing and I absolutely adore her. She is not rigid and really lets you find yourself in the practice. I’ve noticed a huge difference – both mentally and physically. If you are interested in getting into Yoga, I highly recommend trying her videos – she has changed my life!

2:  I took my Yoga practice a step further five months ago when I started incorporating meditation into my daily routine. I have meditated every day since October 1, 2017. I’ve tried different apps, but I really love Insight Timer. I really enjoy the vast variety of guided meditations, breathing exercises and the option to silently meditate on your own. It keeps track of your sessions and even recognizes your accomplishments.  This app has definitely helped with my consistent practice!

3:  From the first two facts, you can probably guess that I’m a spiritual person. I believe our dreams are a window to our soul. I believe that certain things have to happen for a particular reason. Butterflies represent a powerful spiritual connection with my guardian angels (my nonno and my dad). On many occasions, in moments of difficulty, uncertainty and even joy, I’ve noticed a butterfly fluttering around me.

4:  When I was younger, my dad and I would do a Godfather Trilogy marathon every year during the Christmas holidays. Yup, all three one after the other!  It became an unspoken tradition.

5:  Before my dad was diagnosed with cancer, I was a Music Publicist, which allowed me to combine things I love – music and writing. I’ve also walked on a few red carpets and even made a quick appearance in a music video.  One of the things I loved most was writing interesting pieces and sharing stories about my various clients. It is what made me want to focus on writing more.

6:  I’m obsessed with candles! Whenever I visit Canada, I buy 2 or 3 large candles from Bath and Body Works. It kills me that they don’t have a shop here. But, I’ve found a decent substitute for a candle that  fills the room with a wonderful scent and lasts a long time! If you are an expat missing your Bath & Body Works candles, try Heart and Home Country Kitchen candles.

7:  I don’t deny that I’m a coffee-addict. I drink coffee at all hours of the day, and yes even late at night before going to bed. The effect it has on me seems to be completely dependent on the time of day I consume it.

And now, here are my (…I chose 5) nominees:

Sam at As The Sparrow Flies (Travel + Lifestyle)

Britta at Moxie d’Amore (Motherhood + Travel)

Ishita at Italophilia (Travel + Italian Culture)

Lorelle at A Mindful Traveller (Travel + Food)

Jules at OM & The City (Yoga + Wellness)

Well, that was fun! Thanks again Kristie for sending some love my way! I hope you’ll take the time to check out the bloggers I think are deserving of this title. I am consistently inspired and learning thanks to the amazing bloggers out there!

    Congrats and well-deserved Lulu!
Interesting thoughts on butterflies. Not sure if you know, but Māoris (NZ) believe that if a moth flutters in a room or around you, you’ve forgotten to phone someone, typically someone close to you. Indigenous people seem so much more in tune with Mother Earth.
I didn’t know about the red carpet – do tell 😉

Thank you! 🙂 I have always had a strong connection to butterflies and it’s stuck with me over the years. I want to do more reading into the symbolism of the butterfly for Indigenous people – it’s always fascinated me! I’ll tell you the red carpet stories next time we see each other 😉

Congratulations on the award. Italy seems the perfect place to have a coffee addiction. I still fondly remember the many cups of espresso and morning cappuccino I drank on my wanderings in Italy.
