World Nutella Day 2017 ~ Creamy Nutella Liqueur
Here we go again, it’s World Nutella Day. If you love Nutella as much as I do, then you probably already know what World Nutella Day is. But, if for some odd reason, you still aren’t sure what I’m talking about, then head over here and read up on this now internationally recognized event that is celebrating it’s 11th edition this year.
Whether you love Nutella mixed into your favorite cookie recipe or just like digging in with a spoon, there are so many great recipes out there that involve one of the world’s most famous guilty pleasures.
Here’s a look at some Nutella inspired recipes I’ve featured on my blog in the past:
This year, I did something a little different. Instead of trying a dessert recipe, I decided to try out a recipe for a creamy Nutella liqueur. This delicious drink is so easy to make and is sure to impress your dinner guests.
Here’s what you need:
¾ cup Nutella
½ sugar
1 ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
1 ½ – 2 cups of vodka (or to taste)
Here’s what you do:
In a medium saucepan, stir together the Nutella and sugar until they are well combined. Then slowly add the heavy whipping cream. Continue stirring gently until the Nutella, sugar and heavy cream are a smooth creamy texture.
Allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature.
Once cooled, stir in the vodka. I would suggest starting with 1 or 1 ½ cups then slowly add more to get the taste you desire.
Pour in a shot glass and serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
This liqueur can be stored in the fridge for up to three weeks.
