Happy 11th Blogiversary, Calabrisella Mia!
Here we are again, another blogiversary! Another year has passed and this blog still continues to give me an incredible creative outlet. This past year, I focused on writing more regularly and exploring different styles of writing.
This year was particularly special for me. I had an incredible oppourtunity to meet some amazing people while discovering a new area of Calabria, the Aspromonte Mountains. I can’t wait to share this inspiring experience with you all on my blog very soon.
11 years is a long time and this blog has been with me through so many life-changing experiences – one of the biggest being my move to Calabria.
So, what is it about this blog that has kept me going for so long?
Passion
The main reason I started this blog was because I had (and still have) a passion for writing, exploring and sharing interesting things with people. When I was working in Public Relations, the thing I loved most was sharing interesting stories.
So this blog gives me a voice, a way to express myself and share things that I’m passionate about. It is a place to share who I am and what moves me in this world. It has essentially become a story of my life over the past 11 years – things I’ve done, places I’ve visited and things I’ve learned along the way.
Connection
Thanks to this blog, I’ve connected with like-minded people from all over the world. There is nothing more amazing than interacting with people. I love hearing their stories and perhaps even learning something valuable from them.
Life Lessons
But, I think the thing that inspires me the most to keep blogging, is the lessons it has taught me and continues to teach me. It reminds me to look at the world more openly, to be brave enough to tell “my story”, and to never give up on my passions no matter how hard it gets.
It would be great if this blog was my full-time paying job, but that’s not why I started it. And that’s why after all these years, I’m still dedicated to this blog, to what it means to me and the potential (big or small) I know it has for me in the future.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for stopping in and taking time to see what I’m up to. It means the world to me when you leave comments or send emails and share your stories with me.
I’m looking forward to sharing another year of adventure with you!

May 10, 2019 at 6:55 amThanks, Karen! You are right, there weren’t many expat blogs or blogs on Calabria back then but it’s great to see the community that has developed since then! I’ve met some pretty incredible people, virtually and in real life, that have made me appreciate this blog even more! 🙂 Thanks for always being such a great supporter of the blog! 🙂 I do hope we can meet someday soon!!
