Cose Belle Festival (Cosenza)
The Cose Belle Festival, now in its 3rd year, is just that – beautiful things! A festival dedicated to creativity and imagination. I fell in love with this festival from its first edition, which brought together interesting and unique artisans from all over Calabria.
The Beginning
Deborah De Rose is a young Calabrese with a passion and vision! She, like many people I admire, took a step out of the box called “conformity” to do something that she was truly passionate about. She envisioned a place that would bring together creatives while providing an outlet to share these unique creations with others. So, she formed Interazioni Creative – a community of artists, designers, and artisans. Along with providing a creative co-working space, Deborah also organizes events that invite others to discover the beauty of creating!
Her exuberant enthusiasm and a strong passion to inspire others through art and design are what drew me to her and her vision. She has surrounded herself with an impressive group of artists and creators that spark so much inspiration and desire to always pursue your dreams.
The Festival
The Cose Belle Festival (October 25 – 30, 2019) is continuing to grow with each passing year! It takes place in the beautiful Museo MAM in the old town of Cosenza. This bright open space is the perfect host for such an event.
In one of the large rooms is an impressive display of various illustrations that took part in a special contest. I’m sure it was difficult to choose from the overwhelming number of entries! There are pieces from all parts of the world, even Waterloo (Canada). I spent a lot of time reading the description and motivation of each piece, either stirring strong emotions or reaffirming my personal views on the world and life.
In a second large room is the unique and interesting Alchemica exhibit. The images on there own were beautiful, but they came to life when looking at them through your smartphone, thanks to a free downloadable app, Aria.
These pieces were created by Alkanoids, a design studio in Milano. Each piece became animated with movement and sound and through the app, you can record and share the experience with friends. Sorry to all my friends and family that I spammed that day – they were all so very cool.
You can check it out some of the pieces of the ALCHEMICA project for yourself online! Download the free app ARIA THE AR PLATFORM (available on Android and Apple) and then visit this website and enjoy!
Throughout the building, you can admire the work of FRA! Design. Francesco Caporale is live painting his fun and playful doodle art on various walls and glass panels.
There is so much detail in his work, you could spend hours discovering all the different elements hidden in his drawings.
Also. the festival hosts creative tables that allow visitors to create something guided by various creators, which are free, However, since space is limited, you need to book.
Creo e Sono Felice. E Tu?
The motto of the festival is “Creo e Sono Felice” – I create and I’m happy! I find happiness in writing and photography, which lead me to create this blog. So, pursuing my passions has opened me up to new people and experiences, things which make me so happy!

November 7, 2019 at 1:59 pmMissed it as it’s not what my guests wanted – they wanted to visit more villages in Calabria, a castle, and the Sila so we packed loads in for them during the week. Maybe I’ll catch it next year.
